Call for nominations: 2023 Kevin Pole Memorial Sportsmanship Award

Kevin Pole Pole was an important supporter of Reining in Saskatchewan and encouraged and mentored many, as a coach, trainer, and as a respected judge for the SRHA. The Kevin Pole Memorial Sportsmanship Award is sponsored by Tyrel and Rhea Pole is awarded to a person who best displays some of the qualities that Kevin is remembered for.

Any person nominated should meet the following guidelines:

• Be an SRHA member in good standing

• Demonstrate good sportsmanship and support friendly competition.

• Be encouraging and be willing to cheer for all riders.

• Maintain a positive attitude regardless of how their run in the show pen goes.

• Promote a friendly and welcoming environment at SRHA or other competitions.

• May go “above and beyond” in acts which support other competitors or demonstrate exemplary sportsmanship.

• Has a genuine love for the horse and passion for reining or other equine sports.

• Actively looks for ways to support youth and beginner riders.

• Carries on Kevin Pole’s legacy by building community within the equine industry.
