SRHA Walk Trot Reining
The SRHA is pleased to introduce a new Walk-Trot Reining class to the Summer Series for 2025! This class is a great way to get riders who are not yet able to lope confidently into the showpen and practicing reining-type patterns.
Class details and rules are as follows:
All riders must possess an SRHA Youth membership.
Walk Trot Reining is open to riders who are 9 years of age or younger as of January 1st of the current year.
One adult may enter the arena with the rider for support and is allowed to coach the rider during the run.
Riders entering Walk Trot Reining may only enter that class and can not compete in any other classes at that show.
Walk Trot Reining is not concurrent with any other class
Although this class is intended to give young riders their first opportunities to perform in the reining pen, their runs will be judged and official placings will be awarded.
The Walk Trot Reining class will run NRHA Short Stirrup or WPR Para Reining patterns.
The pattern must be trotted; prolonged loping will result in a 0 score.
Riders may show on any horse, use 1 and/or 2 hands with any legal bit, and use any type of reins.
